League of Legend World Championship 2020 viewing parties

Due to current circumstances we sadly will not be hosting any official public viewing events for Worlds this year.

One of the greatest spectacles in all of esports is just around the corner as we prepare for the 2020 League of Legends World Championship. We’re sure you are all just as excited as we are for the global event to kick off in Shanghai on September 25. There’s nothing quite like watching the best players on the planet compete against each other, especially when you can do so with hundreds, if not thousands, of like-minded people at viewing parties. However, due to the uncertain circumstance surrounding COVID-19, Riot Games will not be supporting any public viewing events for Worlds this year; though this might change if the general status improves. Unfortunately, we will not be issuing licenses for commercial viewing parties of any size including those held in cinemas though we look forward to restarting this initiative once we are able to. Yet, we know how significant private viewing parties are to our players. Therefore, if you do decide to host one we implore you to keep it small but more importantly please follow your country’s local guidelines and follow its guidance on matters such as maintaining distance, wearing face masks etc. Even if you aren’t able to attend a viewing party in-person, there are countless fans online on social media, on Discord servers and in chat who you can share the Worlds experience with. Send messages of encouragement to the teams you’re supporting, react to the big plays from some of the greatest players the game has ever seen and soak in all the drama as there will undoubtedly be a few surprise results. Over several weeks, memories will be made and our esports’ great history will gain another chapter as we crown a new World Champion. Make sure you don’t miss a second of the action.
