Announcing the Teamfight Tactics: Galaxies Championship

Today we are excited to announce the first global tournament for TFT - The Teamfight Tactics: Galaxies Championship -- and share additional details of our vision for Teamfight Tactics Esports.

The Teamfight Tactics: Galaxies Championship will showcase the highest level of play and feature competitors from all over the world battling for their part of the $200,000 prize. To support this, we are creating a clear path to the Championship that will be globally accessible through both the in-game ladder and online tournaments. Going forward, we plan to celebrate the conclusion of each set with a competitive global Championship. We want to reward all of the players who dedicate their time to mastering Teamfight Tactics and provide a goal that exists beyond reaching the top of the ladder. **The Teamfight Tactics: Galaxies Championship** The Teamfight Tactics: Galaxies Championship will take place at the end of the set and we’ll reveal additional details regarding timing later on this summer. Sixteen players from around the world will qualify through a region-specific system of ladders and tournaments to ensure that the best players from every region are represented. **The Teamfight Tactics: North America Final** The Teamfight Tactics: North America Final will take place in mid-August over two days where sixteen qualified competitors will vie to be one of the two players representing North America at the Teamfight Tactics: Galaxies Championship. We believe the competitive season for Teamfight Tactics: Galaxies will lay the foundation upon which TFT Esports can grow in North America. The competitive season for the Galaxies Set will consist of both ladder and organized play. We’ll be using both methods to determine the sixteen US and/or Canadian players that will qualify for the available sixteen seats at the NA Final. - Ladder: Starting the first week of May and ending the last week of July, we’ll be taking weekly snapshots of the ladder rankings with players earning points based on their rank. The top 10 point earners across all twelve weeks of competitive ladder player will earn a seat at the NA Final. We’ll share the ladder qualification in late April. - Organized Play: This marks the launch of the beta of our circuit system in North America. We plan to have a number of online tournaments starting in May where players fight to earn points to qualify for two potential seats at the NA Final. Four additional seats will be available through partner qualification events that will take place in June and July. We’ll share more information about these events before the end of the month. While Teamfight Tactics is cross-platform on PC and mobile devices, qualification may be platform specific at the discretion of the tournament organizers in our region.
**The Competitive Ecosystem** In addition to the Teamfight Tactics: Galaxies Championship, we’re going to take steps to create more opportunities for top TFT players and grow the broader competitive ecosystem. First, we’ll be releasing the TFT Community Competition Guidelines next week to unlock organizers to create more opportunities for high stakes competitive play. We're also working on tools that will make it easier to broadcast and operate tournaments, and we hope to share details on our progress soon. There’s a lot more to do, but we’re committed to growing the opportunities for top TFT players and creating more exciting events for fans to follow!
