Starting today, June 12, until LCS Finals on September 6, we will be matching $100,000 of donations made to the ACLU Foundation, the Innocence Project, the Center for Policing Equality and the NAACP, by LCS Teams, Owners and LCS and Academy players and staff.
Earlier this month, Riot Games pledged $1 million through the Social Impact Fund with initial contributions going to The Innocence Project & The ACLU. Riot Games also will be deploying $10 million dollars towards game-related businesses led by founders underrepresented in the games community. And for those aspiring to enter a career in gaming, Riot Games will be establishing a partnership with Florida A&M University to support those underrepresented software engineers, alongside launching a $50,000 scholarship through the Thurgood Marshall Scholarship Fund.
While these are just the first steps from here at the LCS and Riot Games to support racial justice and equality, we encourage everyone to continue educating themselves on institutional racism and learn more about how you can support the Black Lives Matter movement.
