In May, the LCS [announced][2] our LCS Game Changers Capstone Event for 2022, giving a select 10 women and folks of other marginalized genders the opportunity to fly out with all expenses paid, and train at the LCS studio. Now, we’re excited to open applications for this experience.
Throughout the two-week program, players will experience firsthand the lifestyle of a professional player: They’ll be grouped into teams where they will learn the fundamentals of becoming a pro, practice their skills, scrim against internal and external teams, and work with established coaches and analysts to gain insight on how they can improve. Additionally, we'll host a variety of guest speakers and mentorship opportunities to better equip them for the transition into the next step of their esports career. At the end of the program, the players will be flown to San Francisco, California, to see the League of Legends World Championship Final.
As a reminder, this LCS Game Changers event supports women and other marginalized genders who are high ELO League of Legends players and works to transition them into amateur and professional leagues. We understand this journey can be daunting to embark on alone, and we’re proud to host this event that will act both as a training and scouting ground to provide women and other marginalized genders with more paths into the esports scene.
This program's primary goal is to level up an underserved group of League of Legends players, and understanding the importance of safety in the community, especially for these groups, we will be respecting our participant's privacy by not broadcasting this event live.
