We’re back for another season of League of Legends National competitions in the Nordics, UK and Ireland for Spring 2025. Whether you’re a team of Gold friends or a future Challenger star grab your 5 stack and sign up for your local league!
What is the NLC and the National Divisions?
In EMEA we run EMEA Regional Leagues (ERLs) that breaks our region up into smaller competitions for local players. The Northern League Championship (NLC) is the ERL for the Nordics, UK and Ireland and is broken down into the 1st Divisions for the best teams in our region and then 5 National Leagues for each of the countries in the Nordics as well as the UK and Ireland.
Each league has multiple divisions for players of all skill levels from challengers all the way down so that you play against players at your skill level as you look to show off your best plays. Sign ups are open right now and can be found below!
National Leagues
There are 5 leagues for you to join depending on where the majority of your team is from or lives: League Championship Denmark, Finnish Pro League, GGLigaen in Norway, SvenskaOnlineLigan and 4 Nations in the UK and Ireland.
Each of the five competitions have slightly different league structures but they involve weekly matches against other teams in your divisions with wins granting you points. At the end of the season you play in a playoffs with the chance to promote and relegate depending on your performance in the previous season.
There are no rank requirements to join and you’ll be placed against similarly ranked teams so matches tend to be closely fought competitions where any side can take home the victory.

What if I don’t have a team?
That’s not a problem! Local discords have a #looking-for-team channel where you can post your competitive experience, lane preference and champion pool as well as find other similarly ranked players to join and start your competitive journey.

What is The NLC?
The NLC is the Northern League of Legends Championship and the European Regional League (ERL) for Northern Europe. If you’re interested in playing some competitive 5v5 League of Legends and you’re from the Nordics, UK or Ireland then this is the best place for you to sign up and enjoy some competitive matches in 2025!
What’s the schedule?
Each league is a little different, but if you’re going all the way it’ll be roughly one night a week during each League of Legends season. Check your local country league for their full schedule!
Do I need a team?
Yes you’ll need to compete with a full team of five players with optional substitutes if you need them. If you’re looking for more players for your team or want to join a team you can find extra information in the local discords.
Do we all need to be from the same country to create a team?
The majority of your team has to be in the country you’re competing in. For example you’d need at least 3 players based in Denmark to join the Danish league.
Do I need to be a certain rank?
No, it’s open to everyone! You’ll compete against players close to your rank.
