From fourth seed of the LCK to being crowned 2022 World Champions - DRX’s World Championship run was nothing short of the greatest underdog story in LoL Esports history.
On July 12, “How Underdogs Made League of Legends History | DRX: The Rise” will be released on the LoL Esports YouTube channel and Red Bull TV. The documentary, presented by Red Bull Media House in partnership with Riot Games, follows the story of DRX and their journey throughout the 2022 League of Legends World Championship.
DRX just managed to secure their spot at Worlds through the LCK Regional Qualifiers, but the team became the only team in LoL Esports history to become World Champions after beginning in the Play-In Stage. The journey couldn't have been more miraculous: always the underdog, never the favorite to win, but time and time again defied expectations with their unbreakable spirit to become World Champions.
In addition to the documentary’s release, the [DRX: 2022 Worlds Winners Showcase][1] launched on June 1. The showcase promotes the DRX World Championship skins including Prestige Aatrox, in honor of Kingen’s OnePlus MVP performance, signature icons, and more DRX-themed loot. Players can complete missions and earn additional rewards throughout the four-week showcase.
