In the League of Legends Japan League (LJL), Non-Residents in Japan could obtain Japanese Residency after competing in the LJL for a total of 4 years (8 Splits), having started the majority of their games, and after receiving approval from the League.
Players who acquired Japan Residency in the LJL via the time-based requirement will not retain their Japan Residency in the League of Legends Championship Pacific (LCP). However, under the LCP Roster Policy, they will be considered LCP Resident Players if they choose to continue their careers in the LCP.
For players who currently meet the time-based Japan Residency criteria in the LJL but have not yet obtained Japan Residency from the League, there will be a one-time option to convert to LCP Residency. Players who wish to do so must submit an individual request to LCP Officials by December 18th 2024, 23:59 GMT+8). Players are to confirm the submission details with their team.
This policy is to provide eligible players with an opportunity to remain in the Asia-Pacific ecosystem and compete in the LCP.
