The 2025 League of Legends World Championship is heading back to China and will take place from October 14 to November 9. Fans around the world can look forward to world-class competition, unforgettable moments, and the crowning of the next World Champion.
Worlds 2025 begins with 17 teams vying for the trophy. The Play-In Stage will kick off October 14 in Beijing at the state-of-the-art Beijing Smart Esports Center, a venue built specifically for premier esports events. This will be the first time the Beijing Smart Esports Center hosts a World Championship, and it promises to deliver an electric atmosphere. New this year, the Play-In Stage will host a one-day best of five between the fourth seeded team of the two best performing regions from MSI to punch their ticket to the Swiss Stage.
From October 15-25, the Swiss Stage will bring together 16 teams from across the globe in a dynamic format, where every win moves you closer to knockout contention—and every loss brings you closer to elimination.
From October 28 to November 2, the remaining 8 teams will head to the iconic Mercedes-Benz Arena in Shanghai for the Knockout Stage. As one of Shanghai’s first venues certified as an “A-level Esports Venue,” it stands not only as a premier stage for competitive gaming in China, but also as a renowned cultural and entertainment landmark in Asia. The single elimination, best-of-five matches raise the stakes as teams make their stand for a shot at the Finals. For the first time in Worlds history, the quarterfinals will roll straight into the semifinals with no break in play—turning the Knockout Stage into nonstop cinema where only the strongest can survive.
The 2025 World Finals will take place November 9 at Dong'an Lake Sports Park Multifunctional Gymnasium in Chengdu. One of Western China’s most modern and architecturally striking stadiums, it offers a fitting backdrop for the final showdown of the season. The stage is set for an unforgettable conclusion to Worlds 2025 as two teams battle for the honor of lifting the Summoner’s Cup.
