Welcome back, Summoners.
League of Legends Classic is all about celebrating League’s past and present, with a “greatest hits” feeling pulled from the game’s early years. And for a lot of players, that means remembering the days when online competition could light up a weekend, with thousands of teams jumping in, battling through brackets, and chasing one more shot at glory.
We want to bring a little of that feeling back.
This August, we’re hosting a new online 5v5 League of Legends Classic tournament series on the North American server. Each event will take place in a single day and feature a single-elimination bracket, giving teams a chance to relive the energy of early online competition.
The road to the finals begins with four qualifier tournaments, taking place every Saturday from August 1 through August 22. The top two teams from each qualifier will advance to the final tournament on Saturday, August 29, where they’ll compete for the top spot in North America.
Signups open on Saturday, July 25.
If you’ve been waiting for a reason to round up your friends, lock in your roles, and jump back into that old-school competitive spirit, this is your moment.
We’ll have more details to share soon. Until then, you can catch up on League Classic in the 200 Years of Experience | Dev Update and the /dev: League of Legends Classic post.
