Riot Games is honored to announce Rasmus “Caps” Winther as the third inductee into the LoL Esports Hall of Legends. Known as a beacon of hope whose legacy reshaped what the West believed was possible on the global stage, Caps becomes the first Western League of Legends pro to earn the distinction.

Widely regarded as the defining Western player of his generation, Caps built his legacy through a rare blend of elite skill, creativity, and authenticity. From his meteoric rise as a rookie to becoming the most decorated player in European League of Legends history, Caps has consistently proven he can stand toe-to-toe with the world’s best while staying true to his own style. Known as both a dependable teammate and an innovative force on the Rift, he inspires those around him to play boldly and push the boundaries of what’s possible. Off the Rift, Caps’ warmth, humility, and sense of camaraderie have made him a beloved figure among teammates and fans alike. In an era where many chased established trends, Caps became a beacon of hope for the West: living proof that individuality, joy, and creativity can compete at the highest level.

Caps will be celebrated at the official Hall of Legends Trophy Ceremony in Berlin, Germany, on August 18. Caps also will be honored throughout the duration of the Hall of Legends in-game event beginning September 10, which includes an event pass that will guide players throughout his career and dedicated cosmetic items. About Hall of Legends

Every year, LoL Esports inducts a pro player into the Hall of Legends to honor their achievements within the sport and game. A list of approximately 20 players that have played for at least five cumulative years in Tier 1 competition are nominated by key Riot staff in each region and put forth to an independent, 50-person voting panel made up of esports industry veterans from every region. This panel then votes for players based on criteria including international berths, international and regional titles, role specific stats, and overall contributions to the sport.

Players inducted into the Hall of Legends program will be presented with an official trophy for their achievements. Inductees will also be memorialized on the Rift through an in-game event which includes a game pass and collections, inviting fans to not only join the celebration, but to express their fandom through cosmetic items that tastefully reflect the inductee and the historic moments of their career. Inductees and their teams will receive a portion of proceeds from the sale of passes and bundles.
