Shortly after North America’s LCS Champion is crowned on September 11, we will kick off the road to the League of Legends World Championship with the Worlds 2022 Draw Show!
How does the Worlds 2022 Draw Show work?
----------------------------------------
**Play-In Stage Draw**
The Worlds 2022 Draw Show will see the 12 Play-in Stage teams drawn into three pools based on past regional performance. Prior to the draw, we split teams into pools to ensure quality groups. These pools will be sorted into two groups of six (Group A and Group B) for the Play-in Stage of the World Championship.
**Pool 1** will consist of LPL4, LCK4, LEC3, and PCS2.
**Pool 2** will consist of LEC4, LCS3, VCS2, and LJL1.
**Pool 3** will consist of LCO1, TCL1, LLA1, and CBLOL1.
No team may be in the same group as another team from their region. Play-in matches will begin September 29 in Mexico City.
**Group Stage Draw**
Following the Play-In Stage Draw, we will conduct the Group Stage Draw. The remaining 12 teams have been sorted into three Draw Pools based on past regional performance. These three pools will be sorted into four groups of four for the Group Stage of the World Championship.
**Pool 1** will consist of LPL1, LCK1, LEC1, and LCS1.
**Pool 2** will consist of LPL2, LCK2, LEC2, and PCS1.
**Pool 3** will consist of LPL3, LCK3, LCS2, and VCS1.
NOTE: The winners from the Play-In Stage will be drawn directly into each of the four groups once Play-Ins concludes and will not be part of the Draw Show.
No team may be in the same group as another team from their region. If a draw would result in this, or would force this result in the future, we will move the drawn team to the next available group slot. Group Stage matches will begin October 7 in New York City.
