SoFi invests in next generation of talent through Honda Scouting Grounds partnership and a new tournament series
The 2020 Honda Scouting Grounds kick off today. And with it, we’re proud to announce that online personal finance company SoFi has joined us.
The 2020 Honda Scouting Grounds kick off today. And with it, we’re proud to announce that online [personal finance company SoFi][1] has joined us to invest in amateur talent and their careers.
Now in its fifth year, Honda Scouting Grounds provides amateur North American LoL players the opportunity to showcase their skills in front of LCS scouts and coaches. With SoFi, Honda Scouting Grounds is leveling up our investment in players starting with a **$250 SoFi primary investment account** gifted to all eligible competitors. Additionally, this year’s Finals broadcast will introduce the **SoFi Money Moves**, a live replay of key game moments, and a new award of **Most Improved Player** presented by SoFi.
Immediately following Honda Scouting Grounds, SoFi will also host the inaugural **SoFi Meta Melee**, a first-of-its-kind, hybrid series of tournaments produced by **Nerd Street Gamers** that rewards college-aged players with prizes towards investing and cost of school.
Starting Friday, November 20 the series will include tournaments across three games/game modes, over the course of four weeks:
- **Week 1:** League of Legends - ARAM Friday ($5K prize pot), Teamfight
Tactics ($5K prize pot)
- **Week 2:** League of Legends - ARAM Friday ($5K prize pot) and
Summoner’s Rift ($5K prize pot)
- **Week 3:** League of Legends - Summoner’s Rift ($1,250 prize pot),
Teamfight Tactics ($10K prize pot)
- **Week 4:** League of Legends - ARAM Friday ($1,250 prize pot) and
Summoner’s Rift ($10K prize pot)
